Enhancing
Safety
Utah
Back Country Pilots believes that through sharing our knowledge and
experience of remote airstrips we can make backcountry flying in Utah
safer. Our Airstrip Database is being constructed and refined and
we invite members and nonmembers alike to use it as a guideline. Through
this network, pilots can help correct inaccuracies and update recent
conditions. Please feel free to e-mail or telephone us with any questions
or observations.
Preservation
of Airstrips
Our other
main goal is to advocate for the preservation of these airstrips with
Federal and State land managers. We believe pilots are legitimate
users of the backcountry just like hikers, horseman, campers, and
kayakers.
Preservation
of the Environment
UBCP
also promotes "leave no trace" camping and "tread lightly"
disciplines.
